Among other things, the museum displays 50 collections designed by Ilias Lalaounis, the founder of the museum. Ilias Lalaounis was a jeweler and artist and became world-famous for his production of luxurious gold jewelry.

The Museum acts as an international centre for jewelry and decorative crafts, with an emphasis on silver and goldsmithing as well as contemporary studio jewelry.
