Roman remains and medieval palaces in Barcelona

Explore the origins of the city, from the Roman settlement of Barcino to the modern metropolis. Our guides will show you the traces of the past hidden in the architecture, squares and stories of the area. The walk begins near Barcelona Cathedral, which combines elements of different styles. The tour continues to the most important preserved parts of the Roman city wall. At the end of the tour, near the cathedral, you will visit Plaça del Rei, a unique place and the historical centre of power during the reign of the Catalan counts and monarchs. Below the square are the remains of the Roman city of Barcino and above it the remains of the medieval city. The guides will take you to hidden places and tell you the exciting stories hidden behind the walls. Let yourself be enchanted by the secrets of the Barri Gòtic.
