On this guided tour, you will learn all about Barcelona's history from Roman times to the Middle Ages. Stroll through the Gothic Quarter, which has a charm all of its own with its narrow, cobbled streets, wrought-iron street lamps and buildings with hidden corners where you can lose yourself.

The Cathedral and roman remains

The walk begins near Barcelona Cathedral, which was built in various artistic styles. The tour continues to the most important preserved parts of the Roman city wall. At the end of the tour, near the cathedral, you will visit Plaça del Rei, a unique place and the historical centre of power during the reign of the Catalan counts and monarchs. Below the square are the remains of the Roman city of Barcino and above it the remains of the medieval city.
