The walk begins near Barcelona Cathedral, which combines elements of different styles. It continues to the most important preserved parts of the Roman city wall. At the end of the tour, near the cathedral, you will visit Plaça del Rei, a unique place and the historical centre of power during the reign of the Catalan counts and monarchs. Below the square are the remains of the Roman city of Barcino and above it the remains of the medieval city.

This tour must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. You will receive detailed information about this with your Barcelona City Pass.


Important information

  • This tour is conducted in German
  • Please be at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the tour starts. 
  • Accessibility: The narrow streets and cobblestones in the Barri Gòtic can be difficult to access for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility 
  • Pushchairs: Due to the narrow streets and uneven paths, it may be difficult to use pushchairs during the tour.
