Sant Pau Recinte Modernista is a former hospital built in Catalan modernism that was designed by the famous Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The pavilion on the area contains the historical archive of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau with its documents from more than 500 years and was declared a World Heritage of UNESCO. Furthermore the area offers insights into the history of medicine in Barcelona, into the life and work of the modernistic architect and into the underground tunnels which connect the buildings with each other. Enjoy the crested façades, roofs and windows and take a break on the beautiful outside with its little parks.
