Neues Museum (New Museum)

The admission into the Neues Museum on the Museumsinsel is free and you save € 10 with the Berlin WelcomeCard all inclusive.

The New Museum includes different, but also thematically similar, areas of history: art, museum, and technology of the 19th century. During World War II, the actual building of the museum was heavily damaged, and it wasn’t until 2003 that restorations began in order to create a modern museum and at the same time honour the style of the historical building’s facades and inner rooms. In 2009, the museum’s restoration was completed and was opened to the public. The New Museum includes the Egyptian Museum and the Papyrus Collection, the Museum for Prehistoric and Early History, and the Antique Collection. It has been so seldom (sometimes impossible) that visitors can learn and understand more about the development of a huge variety of prehistorical and early historical cultures, such as those from the Middle East, Atlantic, North Africa, and Scandinavia—until now!
