The Coin Museum is located in a traditional built house of the heritage village and was opened in 2004.
Discover coins of various currencies used in the different historical eras. The museum provides touch-screens through which you will have access to detailed information about the coins. This includes the shape & size, the date and method of minting, the meaning of the engravings as well as the metal used to produce the coin. Learn more about Dubai’s history and the different eras like the Rashidun Caliphate, Umayyad Caliphate and Abbasid Caliphate. The museum is divided into eight main display rooms, one of them also exhibiting coins minted in Iraq, the Islamic Orient region, North Africa and Andalusia. Admire an exhibition of about 470 rare coins from different eras.
