The House of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum was constructed in the Al Shindagha area overlooking Dubai Creek in 1896. Serving as residence for the late monarch and his family until 1958 the house, which is one of the oldest buildings in Dubai, was then transformed into a museum. Marvel at a private photo collection, the documentation of the development of Dubai and admire the typical Arabic architecture and interior design among others. A special highlight is the display of original governmental documents aside from historic objects, coins, jewelry as well as other interesting elements. Being located in the Al Shindagha area, the traditional district, The House of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum as well as the other buildings were constructed to face Mecca. Enjoy a beautiful view of the skyline from the first floor.
