Leonardo Interactive Museum®: the first museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci. 100% interactive: discover the fantastic machines and mechanisms designed by Leonardo, experience his incredible architectural designs and study his drawings.
Leonardo da Vinci: universal genius, Renaissance legend, extraordinary engineer, and scientist of his time. The interactive exhibition allows you to immerse yourself in the mind and creative work of one of the greatest geniuses of all time.
Open since 2003, the exhibition is the result of years of study and research with the aim of bringing the thoughts of the genius of mechanical art and the myth of the Renaissance to life. The museum offers the opportunity to discover Leonardo and his more than 50 inventions. The interactive multimedia presentation allows visitors to participate directly in the exhibition.
The focus is on da Vinci as a Renaissance engineer and his mathematical and mechanical view of the world. Visitors can experience the inventions, try them out and thus gain an insight into da Vinci's extraordinary creative thinking. The museum also offers an insight into his anatomical studies and the opportunity to experiment with the principles of physics and mechanics.
Finally, you can admire the illuminated reproductions of his most important paintings, which are shown in their original size and in high resolution. The visit is rounded off by a workshop area. This allows visitors to design da Vinci's bridge and dome constructions and assemble the most fascinating Platonic solids.
The machines and mechanisms on display are not static exhibits, but real mechanical machines that were made with the intention of working.
Among other things, you can operate the giant armour, the catapult, the worm vine, the surface screw, the vertical ornithopter, the hydraulic saw, the printing press and many other inventions of the universal genius.
Each prototype on display is accompanied by the corresponding original drawing by Leonardo da Vinci and a description.
