The museum, which is dedicated to the famous shoe designer, is located on the second floor of Palazzo Spini Feroni. In addition to more than 10,000 shoe models, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum also contains wooden foot replicas of famous personalities, designs and photographs.

Salvatore Ferragamo is a shoe designer who is not only well-known in Italy and is one of the leading designers of his time. He first emigrated to Boston in 1914. Via California, he finally arrived in Hollywood. There he became known as the "shoemaker to the stars", as his custom-made shoes were even coveted by celebrities and he was very successful in the cinema industry until his return to Italy in 1927.

Today, his creations are presented not only to highlight their aesthetic value but also as artifacts attesting to their creator’s skills as an entrepreneur and innovator, his passion for colour, knowledge of the anatomy of the human skeleton and specifically the foot, fine craftsmanship, exploration of new materials and many sources of inspiration from the art world and ancient and contemporary culture, all of which distinguished Salvatore Ferragamo’s work and life.
