How does the Hamburg City Pass work?

    1. Select a pass type – 1, 2, 3, or 5 days – and the number of people on the right in the "book now" box. 
    2. Print out the Hamburg City Pass on a regular DIN A4 page (in black and white or colour). If you cannot print the Pass at your home or office, we offer free delivery of the Hamburg City Pass by mail to your home or hotel. Please leave us a message during your order, write an email or call us. Alternatively you can use the code for your smartphone. You receive the code via email to the email address you registered under. Attention smartphone users: currently you need a print out of the ticket in order to use the public transport HVV (public transportation bus & train). For all other attraction the smartphone ticket is sufficient. 
    3. You receive a digital travel guide to use on your smartphone or print it out. 
    4. Ride with your Pass for free with the public transportation of the HVV in the whole city of Hamburg, including Hamburg airport and some directly neighbouring municipalities. (Großbereich Hamburg with Tarifringen A and B) and visit all of the included attractions. At your arrival you have your ticket already in your pocket and you can start exploring Hamburg right away. 

    Where can I buy my Hamburg City Pass? 
    As well as buying your Hamburg City Pass online, you also have the option to buy it from a number of retail outlets in Hamburg once you arrived:

    – Servicecenter Metronom Central Station: Steintorwall 15 (Mon-Fri: 8am–7pm) - AGw, Steindamm 1 (Mon-Thu: 9am–8pm, Fri and Sat: 9am–10pm) 
    Dammtorbahnhof / train station: Hamburger Abendblatt Ticketshop, Dag-Hammarskjöld-Platz (Mon-Fri: 8am–7.30pm, Sat 10am–4pm)

Validity

How long does the Hamburg City Pass work for? 

The Hamburg City Pass has been designed for maximum flexibility and is valid for one, two, three, or five consecutive days so choose the one that best suits your time in Hamburg. 

The passes work on a calendar day basis (NOT 24 hours) so it’s best to plan your usage wisely. For example, if you have a 3-day pass and you activate it at 2pm on Monday, at 2pm on the Wednesday your 3-day pass will have expired. The passes will be activated upon first use at an attraction, or when using public transport for the first time and will stop working once your pass duration has expired. The included and discounted attractions can only be visited once.  

Please name each pass with the pass holder’s name and information and ensure you carry valid photo identification with you when using the pass. The Hamburg City Pass is not transferable and only valid for the person named in  the pass. Children (3-14 years) and teens (15-17 years) must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Should your plans change, we can reimburse your order up to 1 day before the provisional start date entered, only if the passes and additional products have been unused and not activated. We charge a 20 € service charge for each reimbursement. 

How many times can I visit an attraction? 

Every attraction listed can be visited once for free. Please be aware that some attractions and tours have to be booked in advance. You can find the contact details of the attraction in your digital Travel Brochure free with your pass, or on our website. Always show your Hamburg City Pass when entering an attraction as it acts as your ticket in. 

To avoid disappointment, please consult the opening times of the attractions/museums you want to visit that day in case of special closures. Most attractions close on Christmas Eve (24th of December). It is always best to check the website of the attraction or museum you want to visit in advance. 

Is travel included in the Hamburg City Pass?

The Hamburg City Pass is the complete sightseeing package, including a free Hamburg travelcard (HVV ticket) to be on the public transport network (HVV), valid for the duration of your pass.
Your transport ticket can be used on: Ubahn, Sbahn, Trams, Buses, Boats 

The Travelcard also includes travel to and from Hamburg Airport, making your trip even easier! The additional travel guide which you will receive with your booking includes a metro map of the public transportation network. Moreover you can retrieve information about the different areas of validity of the HVV Ticket and the range of the in your Hamburg City Pass included HVV metro ticket online. Therefore, please visit www.hvv.de. The range included in your Hamburg City Pass is within the grey circle. Within the grey circle you can use the public transportation for free. All attractions included in the Hamburg City Pass and the Hamburg Airport are within the grey zone therefore included.
