The Jenisch Haus is a three-storey white cube in Jenisch Park – a 42-hectare nature reserve on the banks of the River Elbe. The former country residence of Hamburg senator Martin Johan Jenisch (1793 – 1857) is a neoclassical building, on the ground floor of which you can visit the representative living rooms with their original decor: Let yourself be enchanted by the stucco work, furniture, paintings and sculptures from the Empire and Biedermeier periods. The villa architecture and its location in the park characterise the house just as much as the varied design of the rooms in styles ranging from Baroque to Biedermeier. There are regular special exhibitions on art and architecture on the upper floors.

Don’t miss the beautiful park
