Description Museo Capitolini

The museum was founded in 1734 by Pope Clementine XII to make collections and ancient sculptures freely accessible to the public. He created the world's first museum, located on one of the Seven Palatine Hills and above the Roman Forum. Pope Paul III commissioned Michelangelo to design the square. Be amazed at the architecture of the painter, sculptor and architect Michelangelo!
