Restrictions for your visit to the London Eye

  • Height Restrictions: Children under the height of 0.9 meters (approximately 3 feet) are not permitted to ride the London Eye due to safety regulations. Children between 0.9 and 1.35 meters (approximately 4 feet 5 inches) must be accompanied by an adult. 
  • Health Considerations: Guests with specific medical conditions, such as vertigo, heart problems, or epilepsy, should consult their doctors before deciding to ride the London Eye, as the experience may exacerbate these conditions. 
  • Security Checks: All guests must undergo security checks before boarding the London Eye. Be prepared to have your bags and belongings inspected, and refrain from bringing any prohibited items, such as large bags, sharp objects, or dangerous substances. 
  • Late Arrivals: It is crucial to arrive on time for your scheduled ride, as the London Eye operates on a strict schedule. Late arrivals may not be accommodated, and tickets are non-refundable in such cases. 
  • Weather Conditions: Although the London Eye is designed to operate in various weather conditions, extreme weather events, such as high winds or lightning, may lead to temporary closures for the safety of guests. In the event of a closure, alternative arrangements or refunds may be provided, depending on the circumstances. 
  • Accessibility: The London Eye is designed to be accessible for guests with different abilities, including wheelchair users. Each gondola can accommodate one wheelchair user per rotation, and there are ramps and lifts to provide access to the boarding platform. How to get to the London Eye by Public Transport 

To reach the London Eye, you have various transportation options available: 

• By Metro/Underground: The closest Underground station to the London Eye is Waterloo Station, which is served by the Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo, and Waterloo & City lines. From Waterloo Station, it's approximately a 7-minute walk to the London Eye, following the signs directing you towards the South Bank. Other nearby stations include Westminster Station (Circle, District, and Jubilee lines) and Embankment Station (Circle, District, Northern, and Bakerloo lines), each about a 10-minute walk away. 

• By Bus: Numerous bus routes stop near the London Eye, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Key bus routes include the RV1, 77, 211, and 381, which all stop near the attraction. You can alight at the 'County Hall' or 'Waterloo Station' stops, both of which are within a short walking distance to the London Eye. 

• By Taxi: Taxis, including the iconic London black cabs, are readily available throughout the city. Simply hail a cab on the street or book one in advance, and ask the driver to take you to the London Eye. Keep in mind that taxis may be subject to traffic conditions and can be more expensive than other transportation options. 

• By Car: While driving in central London is not recommended due to congestion and limited parking, there are some parking facilities near the London Eye. The nearest parking is at the Q-Park Westminster car park on Great College Street, about a 10-minute walk from the attraction. Alternatively, you can use the Q-Park Waterloo car park on York Road. Keep in mind that the London Eye is located within the Congestion Charge Zone, so you will need to pay the daily charge if you drive in the area. 

• By Foot: If you're staying in central London or nearby, walking to the London Eye is a pleasant and cost-effective option.
