As working royal residences, The Royal Mews are subject to closures, which may occur to all or part of them at short notice.

• Photography and filming for non-commercial purposes are welcome at the Gallery. Out of consideration to other visitors, we ask that you go out of the exhibition space into the foyer if you need to make or answer a phone call. 

• Large bags and backpacks are not allowed: For security reasons, large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside The Royal Mews. Visitors are encouraged to leave these items at their hotel or accommodation, or to store them in a nearby locker. 

• No food or drink is allowed: To protect the historic carriages and other exhibits, food and drink are not allowed inside The Royal Mews. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a meal or snack outside the building, or to visit one of the nearby cafes or restaurants. 

• When you arrive, you will pass through an airport-style security check. 

• Accessibility: While The Royal Mews is an historic building with some restrictions on accessibility, the staff is committed to making the attraction as accessible as possible. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance, and the staff is happy to assist visitors with any special needs or requirement
