With approximately 4.3 million images, the museum has the largest collection of theatrical photographs in the world and also houses 250,000 graphic sheets, 500,000 autographs, 50,000 costume designs, 120,000 books and numerous sets, recordings and text writings. The collection goes back to the Renaissance. Although there is no permanent exhibition due to space restrictions, there are special exhibitions on various topics that are presented regularly.
