The castle complex of Nymphenburg Palace has a lot to offer its visitors during the summer months. In the southern part of the garden, the pleasure and hunting castle Amalienburg is located, which is one of the most precious creations of European Rococo architecture. In the southeast area of Lake Badenburg is the Baden Castle, which is a masterpiece of its time with its well-lit ballroom and two-storey bathroom. The third building of the castle garden is the Magdalenenklause by Joseph Effner. The hermitage was considered a retreat for the Elector Karl Albrecht and is located in the northern part of the parterre. The octagonal construction of the Pagodenburg mixes European and Far Eastern elements in an exotic mix. This two-storey building was used by Elector Max Emanuel as a tea pavilion in which exclusive festivals were celebrated.
