The Egyptian Museum in Munich is unique worldwide with its focus on ancient Egyptian art and a thematically structured presentation of its objects. Extraordinary are the completely underground exhibition rooms of the 2013 opened museum, whose clear structures evoke associations with sacral buildings and surprising views of outstanding exhibits such as a colossal lion's head, the Munich Obelisk, the statue of Antinous or the false door of the Old Offer rich. In addition to the consistently bilingual labeling system (German and English), the exhibits are also accessed digitally through media tables and MediaGuides. The location in the heart of the Kunstareal, between the Pinakotheken and the antiquity in the Königsplatz, gives old Egypt also the spatially the adequate place in the midst of the world art.
