The synagogue on Elridge Street open its doors in 1887 for Jewish immigrants from Europe. This Manhattan synagogue was scarcely visited for some time after its establishment. However, the museum now allows visitors to explore the synagogue and learn about Jewish religious objects during a Jewish service such as the tora, as well as the interesting history about the Jewish immigrants from Europe.
