As one of the oldest cultural institutions on Staten Island, the Staten Island Museum presents art, history, and natural science, with a focus of the surrounding area of New York. In the museum, you can peruse through the collection of documents, pictures, sculptures, and more than 500,000 various biological specimens, big or small. A highlight of the museum is the exhibition about the first people in Staten Island, as well as a wall collection of insects and butterflies.
