The Chapel of Atonement was commissioned by Louis XVIII in 1815 and is located next to the mass grave of the victims of the revolution. After the death of Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Charlotte Corday and Olympe de Gouges were buried in the Chapel of Atonement. The neoclassical building is located in the heart of Paris and serves as a memorial to the royal family. Together with the Basilique de Saint - Denis, this building is one of the monuments of the French monarchy.
