The "Musée de l'Institut du Monde arabe" certainly offers more than an extensive collection of objects. It has a message: to promote understanding between France and the Arab world. In order to understand the Arab world locally and to enter into a cultural exchange between one's own and the foreign culture, the museum contains more than 500 works of the history of Arab culture, including some important loans from the foreign world.
Textiles, panelling, scientific objects, ceramics and bronze from Arab culture illustrate the basic idea behind it and expand one's knowledge of the foreign culture. Thus it is also possible to acquire parts of the Arabic language or to follow the development efforts of the region. Give the museum the chance to change your perspective and let yourself be taken on a journey into a fascinating world with a colourful culture.
The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.From Tuesday to Sunday the library closes at 6 pm.
