After more than 20 years of planning and preparation, the Musée National de l'Histoire de l'Immigration was opened in Paris in October 2007. The museum, which deals with immigration to France from the end of the 18th century onwards, contains 9 permanent exhibitions on over 1000 m². Interesting temporary exhibitions make a visit to the Museum of Immigration a great experience.
The Musée National de l'Histoire de l'Immigration is located in the Palais de la Porte Dorée, which was built in 1931 for the Parisian colonial exhibition.
