One of the most important artistic skills of the French Renaissance is the Château d'Écouen. It was built in honour of Anne de Montmorency, she was patroness and politician for the kings Francois I and Henri II. The original Château interior displays the collections from the Musée National de la Renaissance, which embody the full range of artistic and intellectual productions of the period.
Still rather unknown, this imposing monument places local beauty alongside quality architecture, a place where outstanding works of art have been set against a historical background to create a fascinating page of history and art.
