In 1799 Josephine and Napoleon Bonaparte acquired the "Château de Malmaison" and entrusted the young architects, Percier and Fontaine, with the task of developing it further. The final object attracted such a sensation in the first Consul that it became one of the French governorate seats alongside Tuileries in Paris around 1800. Today the castle is one of the rare remaining examples of the consular style that has been preserved in France.
For its authentic character, which it still has, it is still admired by art and culture lovers. Throughout the tour, you will be able to experience the intense atmosphere of the Bonapartes. Various art collections and idyllic landscape gardens reflect the empress's enthusiasm.
