I purchased the Rome 4 day pass with added transport to the city and I’m so glad I did. I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews but my experience was really positive. We got the time bookings that we requested for the Vatican and Colloseum ( slight delay to receive the colloseum ones), and seeing the crazy queues on the days it was a no brainer that we had the passes. Collection for tickets was opposite the Vatican entrance, very convenient. Pantheon now needs to be booked which is a new thing but a member of Turbopass with tickets outside the building to collect. We did everything on our list and didn’t use it to the maximum but it was so convenient. Would recommend. The Hop on Hop off bus was very illusive and not available when we needed it but I used a Citymapper app and the buses were super easy to use . 1.5 € .
It would be great if the MaXXI was also there. Book an airport transfer as well, it's definitely worth it, public transport tickets aren't - they're cheaper locally where we were (end of October) there was a lot going on - so booking the Colosseum wasn't possible - then on site already and there were still two slots for the Vatican... but all in all it's worth it...
Once you learn how things worked especially if your like me never been there or done anything like that before it really save time
The city trip to Rome in conjunction with the Turbopass was very good. The included tickets and discounts were easy to use, questions via email were answered quickly and the service staff on site were friendly, competent and provided good support with the planning. Only the app function with the reference to “attractions in passing” did not work. Turbopass again next time!
It was very helpful to be able to visit the sights without waiting in line with the Turbopass.
We were able to enjoy the city to the fullest because we were well prepared thanks to the pass and didn't have to wait much in line. Great thing. There is one star less because we had ordered a tour of the Vatican in the morning and were then not informed that it was probably not available... It was only at short notice, when I asked Turbopass, that I found out that we had not been booked for anything the Vatican. At short notice, a late afternoon tour without a guide, with an audio guide, was arranged. Unfortunately there was no more light for the gardens.
The passport helped a lot. Picking up the tickets or meeting points by the tourist staff on site was a bit confusing. Free entry through the pass cannot be missed in 4 days. No queuing through the pass is great.
Turbopass helped us in Rome, where long lines are a constant. We had many opportunities to bypass these lines and that was a must for the time in the lines would certainly spoil our trip.
But I have a complain... The name \"Rome City Pass\" is extremely similar to \"Roma Pass\". More than once when we arrived at a venue and showed our \"Rome City Pass\", the attendant refused us saying \"This venue accept the Roma Pass\", not \"Rome City Pass\"...
Unfortunately, the hop on hop off buses are all very overcrowded, even from other providers, reserved tickets worked great,,
It's a shame that you always have to pick up the tickets on site before you can use them, which is a bit inconvenient, especially for public transport. But they also have many advantages - we almost didn't have to queue.
Apart from our pre-booking for the Vatican, everything actually went well. Apparently there were no more available appointments, even though we had booked in advance. We then had to book tickets for the guided Vatican tour from another provider - who also had places for us at short notice - for a much higher price (because once you're there, you'll go there). Communication with Turbo-Pass was a bit slow, but always friendly. We used a few things that were included in the pass and everything went smoothly. So overall, the pass was pretty good :)
Tickets for the Colosseum and Vatican Museums are highly recommended. Past the queue and quickly enter via the group entrance. Booking with a time slot is highly recommended. Best early in the morning. There's not too much going on there yet. It was worth it for the local transport in the city and the hop-on-hop-off bus. Also for the airport transfer. Please note that the bus runs when it is full. No matter how many are still outside. The weather was far too nice to visit a museum. Otherwise it was worth it.
The pass is great if you want to spend four or five days in Rome and mainly want to visit the big sights. Unfortunately our tickets for the Vatican were canceled shortly before departure, so we didn't get to see the Sistine Chapel. But maybe our decision for the pass was a little too late... accordingly: we were very satisfied with the pass and were always able to get to the sights quickly! What really needs improvement: the tickets should simply be made available electronically. So we even had to go to the main train station for our bus tickets because they weren't available at the other pick-up stations and sometimes to the tourist office to have tickets converted into real tickets there. We found that very complicated.
Positive: very practical, especially for not queuing at the entrances or chasing tickets Negative: very very expensive
A little confusing, otherwise good
You can see a lot in 3 days, but not everything. The pass definitely helps with planning. The app needs improvement. It would be great if you could, for example, save the booked and included admissions there. The navigation in the app is also rather old-fashioned. The fact that you can skip the queues if you have booked entry in advance using the pass is brilliant and you should definitely do it. The signage in Rome and in front of the sights is virtually non-existent, so Rome could still improve. We hardly saw anyone without cell phone navigation, so you miss out on paying attention to your surroundings and any other sights on the way to the next attraction.
The reserved dates for the Vatican Museums and Colosseum were great. The local transport ticket and the city tour were also great. But I would also like to have a reserved airport transfer, preferably around the clock or at least more than once an hour. Otherwise, Rome is a very exciting city and definitely worth a second or third visit.
You save a lot of time. No queuing or buying tickets. For us, the 7-day ticket for public transport was our favorite because the buses are always very full and stamping is difficult and the controls are strict. HipHop Bus wasn't that big of a hit. All in all a good investment.
The transport pass proved very useful, especially as we commuted from Ostia to the city. Most museums accepted the pass, though not the Capitoline Museum or Ostia Antica. The bus tour of Rome was spoiled by the rude aggressive attitude of the woman on the bus. The pre booked entry to the Colosseum and Vatican was great. Overall, four stars out of five.
