The Cortile della Pigna, also called Courtyard of the Pinecone, is a park in the middle of the Vatican. It is one of the three Courtyards of the Vatican and offers the possibility for visitors to take a break from visiting the museums.
They can relax here for a while before starting into a new museum. Furthermore visitors can look at the giant sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro.

The Cortile della Pigna is openend from Monday to Saturday from 9am until 6pm. The last entrance into the Vatican is at 4pm. Half an hour before the Vatican closes, you will have to leave the exhibitions.
