Philopappos Hill & Mount Lycabettus – Viewpoints

Enjoy a wide, beautiful view over Athens from Philopappos Hill or the Mount Lykabettus Viewpoint.

Skyline Athens

The ascent to Philopappos Hill or "Hill of Museums" is doubly worth it. You will hike through nature and experience a great view over Athens when you arrive at the top. At the summit you can also admire the 12 m high Philopappos monument.
The mountain Lycabettus is with 277 meters the highest point in the city center of Athens. If the climb up there is too exhausting for you, there is also a cable car available for a fee. A restaurant and a small chapel can also be visited on the mountain.
In addition to a truly majestic view over the city, you also have the opportunity to view the Acropolis from a new angle.
