The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew is one of the biggest botanical gardens. In the Gardens it is possible to spend the whole day even if it is located 30 minutes away from the centre of London.
The garden contains one of the world’s most diverse collection of living plants. In 2003 it was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many glasshouses, galleries with botanical art and the Kew Palace – the former residence of George III – is not everything the garden offers. A recently new highlight in the garden is “The Hive”, a 17 metre high installation showing the dramatical reduction of the population of bees and their importance for pollination. Furthermore the Great Broad Walk Border is a new attration. It is the largest double herbaceous border, flanking both sides oft he 320-metre long Broad Walk.
Besides many botanical exhibitions and a gret number of different plants also other possibilities are available. The Garden contains some restaurants, cafés and souvenir shops to support a break of walking.
Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Kew Royal Botanic Gardens; the admission fee is already included in your London City Pass.
