The Tate Britain in London houses a collection of about 3500 artworks. The museum contains the biggest collection of Britain art created between the 16th and 21th century worldwide. The Tate Britain is located on the area of a former prison in Millbank. It was opened under the name Tate Gallery in 1897 and founded by Sir Henry Tate. In 2000 it was renamed and is named Tate Britain now. Worth seeing are the artworks, which were left following the death of the British artist J. R. W. Turner.
