The Chiesa di San Stae is a 17th century church on the Canal Grande. During a comprehensive reconstruction of the church, a façade with beautifully unique statues was built to face the direction of the Canal Grande, which is still admired by visitors today. The interior of the church is also home to the grave of Duke Alvise Mocenigo II. (whose big donation of money allowed the façade of the church to be renovated), as well as works by almost all the most important Venetian artists of the 18th century.
