With its gothic architecture and being the former residence of Venetian dukes, Doge’s Palace is one of the most visited sights in Venice. After serving as a place for the government and justice department of the Venetian Republic and being destroyed multiple times, Doge’s Palace is now an exhibition about the history of Venice’s maritime republic.After viewing the apartments of the palace, its government rooms, and much more, you will get a larger glimpse into the former culture and politics of Venice.

Opening hours Doge's Palace

Daily: 8:30 am- 7 pm 

Sun–Thu: 8:30 am – 9 pm
Fri, Sat: 8:30 am – 11 pm

The opening hours of Doge’s Palace varies depending on the season. From November to March, the palace opens at 8:30 am and closes at 7 pm. From April to October, you may visit Doge’s Palace between 8:30 am and 9/11 pm. Please notice that last admission into the palace takes place one hour before the end of opening hours.

Special conditions of use Doge's Palace

Please note that the Doge's Palace will close at 1 pm on 13 April 2019 and at 2 pm on 25 April 2019.

The entrance for visitors is located at the Porta del Frumento. Last admission 1 hour before closing.

From Tizian to Rubens - Masterpieces from Antwerp and other Flemish Collections
 5 September 2019 – 1 March 2020

Enter the world of Flemish Art as the leading Flemish museums lend exclusive masterpieces to the Palazzo Ducale in Venice. From 5th September until 1st March 2020 the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, in conjunction with the City of Antwerp, VisitFlanders and the Flemish Community, presents From Tizian to Rubens. Masterpieces from Antwerp and other Flemish Collections, an exhibition curated by Ben Van Beneden, director of Rubenshuis in Antwerp. The magnificent Doge’s apartments will be transformed into veritable ‘constkamers’, rooms filled with exquisite art demonstrating the riches of Flemish collections. Featuring masterpieces by artists including Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck and Michiel Sweerts, the exhibition offers a dazzling array of works, and the finest group of Italian and Flemish art to come to Italy.
