The Museum of Natural History in Venice is housed in the Fontego dei Turchi Palace, which was orginally built in the 13th century and served as trading station for Turkish merchants for a long period of time. In this magnificent building, which is located at the Canal Grande, more than 2 million artifacts are showcased on two floors. Some of the botanical, zoological and entomological artifacts are over 700 million years old. One highlight from the exhibition is the Ouranosaurus skeleton. For all fans of the sea, you can visit the museum’s extensive aquarium, which was built to imitate Venice’s underwater coastal life
