The Correr Museum is located in the Napoleonic wing of the Procuratie on the Piazza San Marco. For many years, it served as the residence of the ruling monarchs. It was named after Teodoro Correr, a Venetian art collector whose comprehensive collection would later be donated to the city of Venice after his death. The exhibition covers the life and culture of the Venetian Republic through bronze statues, paintings and books. One highlight of the exhibition is the residence of the Empress Sissi, which is open to the public to visit.
