For the longest time, the Mocenigo family, which is one of the most influential and wealthy families in Venice, owned the Palazzo Moncenigo. In 1945, the last descendant of the Mocenigo family gave the palace to Venice, and since then, the Palazzo Mocenigo is home to a museum. This museum showcases the glitz and glamour of the Venetian aristocrats in the 18th century. You can visit rooms that are decorated with original furniture from the 18th century and frescoes and also view historical clothing, embroidery, chandeliers, and paintings. Portraits of the Mocenigo family (which fill up an entire exhibition hall) can also be viewed in the museum.
