The Marciana Regional Library was built on the Piazza San Marco in 16th century and is decorated with artworks by Titan, Tintoretto, and many other artists.The first books of this regional library were actually donated by a cardinal in 1486. Today, this library owns one of the most important collections of Greek, Latin, and Oriental works. These collections are focused primarily on Venetian history, classical linguistics, and ancient geography maps.

Every Sunday, 1 and 6 January Easter Monday, 25 April ,1 May, 2 June, 15 August, 1 and 21 November, 8, 25 and 26 December


Admission fee Regional Library Marciana

Adult: 19 €
Children (6–14 years old): 12 €

The admission fee for adults is included in the ticket for the Correr Museum, which costs 19 Euros. Children ages 6 to 14 must only pay 12 Euros.

Special terms and conditions of Regional Library Marciana

Please be aware that the access into the library with backpacks, suitcases, and other bulky bags is prohibited. A free tour (in Italian and English) takes place every second Sunday of the month at 2:30 pm. Registration is required to take part of this tour: simply call (+390412407211) or send a mail to biblioteca@marciana.venezia.sbn.it the library to reserve your spot. 

The regional library Marciana is closed between the 4th and 8th of July due to preparations for the photo exhibition "Coordinate".
