Deutsches Museum Munich: What Is There to See?

The Deutsches Museum Munich wants to bring scientific and technical knowledge to you in a clear and lively way. Using selected examples, it shows how the natural sciences and inventions have developed and what significance they have had for society. Wondering what there is to see at the Deutsches Museum Munich? At demonstrations, experiments and media stations, you can join in yourself. The masterpieces range from the first computers and aircraft to the first petrol-powered car, huge ships and the first microscopes. You can also learn more about astronomy and marine research, nanotechnology and mining, timekeeping, musical instruments and pharmacy.

The collections are divided into these thematic clusters: communication, information, media; people and the environment; natural sciences; transport and mobility (at the Verkehrszentrum on Theresienhöhe); materials, energy, production; and other collections. The main building is located on Munich's Museum Island. Other sites in Munich include the Flugwerft of the Deutsches Museum in Schleißheim. Please note: The exhibitions on Museum Island are currently being modernised. As a result, some of the buildings and collections are temporarily closed to visitors.

The museum is huge, and the thematic clusters alone cover a very wide range of subjects. If you are wondering how much time to allow for the Deutsches Museum Munich, think ahead about which exhibitions interest you most. You should allow at least 2–3 hours. The museum is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is possible until 4:30 pm.

Your Deutsches Museum Munich ticket is confirmed instantly, and customer service is available for you 7 days a week. All museums belonging to the Deutsches Museum are included in the Munich City Pass, so admission is already covered. You don't need to reserve: simply show your QR code on site and off you go. With the Munich Card, you save €2.50 on the ticket price.
