Sainte Chapelle and Conciergerie

Enjoy entry to two remarkable historical monuments located on the Île de la Cité in the heart of Paris.

The Sainte-Chapelle, built in the 13th century by King Louis IX, is one of the most extraordinary examples of Gothic architecture in Europe. The chapel is renowned for its spectacular stained glass windows, which rise across nearly the entire height of the building and illustrate biblical stories across more than 600 square meters of glass. Originally constructed to house sacred relics, including the Crown of Thorns, Sainte-Chapelle remains one of the most impressive medieval monuments in Paris.

Your visit also includes access to the Conciergerie, a historic building that once served as part of the royal Palais de la Cité before becoming a prison during the French Revolution. The site is most famous as the place where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned before her execution in 1793. Today, visitors can explore the Gothic halls of the palace, learn about the revolutionary tribunals, and see reconstructions of the prison cells that once held those awaiting trial.

Together, these two monuments offer a fascinating insight into the religious, royal, and revolutionary history of Paris.
