You have a choice between two fantastic experiences. With the Coached Session, you'll be guided by one of the charismatic instructors. After a brief introduction to safety rules and proper throwing technique, you're ready to go. The professionals will teach you various throwing techniques – from the classic overhead throw to impressive trick shots like underarm throws or even throwing two axes simultaneously. Then compete against your friends in an exciting tournament to show off what you've learned.

Or choose the innovative Games Session, where cutting-edge technology meets traditional axe throwing. Ceiling-mounted projectors display various interactive games onto the target boards. Play Battleships, Noughts & Crosses, Darts or even Trivial Pursuit – but beware: knowing the right answer is one thing, hitting it with an axe is quite another! These sessions last 60 minutes plus a 5-minute safety briefing and are perfect for 1-4 players.

The Hilt is located on Goodramgate, just a four-minute walk from the famous York Minster. This central location makes it the perfect stop during your York exploration. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced axe thrower – everyone is welcome here and guaranteed to have fun.

With your Visit York Pass, this unique experience is already included. Please note that The Hilt can only be visited with an adult pass and passes are valid Tuesday through Friday.
