Discover one of the most beautiful places in Munich – the Lenbachhaus! The worldwide largest collection of blue-riders is one of the highlights of the municipal gallery in the Lenbachhaus.
You can still experience the magnificence of the estate built according to Italian models. Stroll through the idyllic garden with its bubbling fountains. Here you will feel like you are in small oasis. The residence quarters of the artist and its intimate proportions have been preserved even after the reconstruction by the renowned architects Foster + Partner.
While the museum café Ella provides you with culinary pleasure, the newly created rooms in the golden extension of the museum awaits you: Since Gabriele Münter's donation in 1957, the museum houses the world's largest collection of art of the Blue Rider, with works by Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc and many others. Marvel at world-renowned works of art such as the Blaue Pferd, works by Biedemeier and Symbolism. Newer art can be found in the rooms of contemporary art and Joseph Beuys.
