Napoli Sotterranea – History and culture in the underground of Naples
Napoli Sotterranea – also known as Naples Underground – is a fascinating labyrinth of tunnels and chambers deep beneath the city of Naples. Its origins date back to ancient times, when the underground rooms and passages were used as aqueducts, burial sites and shelters.
Napoli Sotterranea is home to remains from very different historical eras, combined with cultural highlights. During your tour, you will discover an underground Greco-Roman amphitheatre, the Naples War Museum, ancient tombs, an art exhibition in the tunnels and beautiful underground gardens.

Monday – Sunday, 10.00, 12.00 am, 2.00, 4.00 and 6.00 pm
Tours in Italian:
10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM (Thursdays at 9:00 PM, by reservation only, with a minimum of 10 participants)

Good to know
Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit Napoli Sotterranea with wheelchairs and pushchairs.
There are handrails along the stairs to make ascending and descending easier.
The tour is suitable for all age groups, including children.
There are no narrow tunnels along the main route, so people with claustrophobia can also visit the attraction.
