No, not at all! You can start your Hamburg City Pass at any attraction.

Do I have to make reservations for the attractions?

For some visits or tours you do need a reservation. You will receive all the important information, contacts and addresses together with your digital City Pass by e-mail. These special booking instructions apply to Hamburg: Guided city tours : Pre-booking is required for the landmark tour or the Reeperbahn tour. One of these tours is included in your Hamburg City Pass as an optional attraction. Visit to the PEKING in the harbour museum : Please note that only the entrance ticket for the harbour museum is included in the Hamburg City Pass. You can book a visit to the PEKING in the museum for an additional fee.

How does the City Pass work on site?

Simply show your Hamburg City Pass at the respective attraction. In most cases, this will give you direct entry, sometimes you will be issued a free ticket. At our partner shops, you show the City Pass before your purchase or order to receive your discount.

Are there special prices and rules for children and young people?

Yes, there are different price categories for the Hamburg City Pass: Children (3-14 years) : Reduced prices Teenagers (15-17 years) : Special youth rates Adults : Full price With a local transport ticket, up to 3 children aged 6-14 can travel for free with an adult ticket.

Most attractions in Hamburg are easily accessible by public transport. The Hamburg City Pass with local transport gives you free travel on all HVV public transport (buses, S-Bahn trains, underground trains and harbour ferries). How does the public transport ticket work?

With the Hamburg City Pass with local transport, you receive a personalised HVV ticket for the AB area. The names of the travellers must be provided for the ticket to be issued. Carry a valid photo ID with you. The ticket is valid for all buses, S-Bahn trains, underground trains and harbour ferries until 6 a.m. on the following day. Up to 3 children (6-14 years) can travel free of charge with an adult ticket.

Are the harbour ferries included in the local transport ticket?

Yes, the harbour ferries are part of the HVV public transport system and are included in the Hamburg City Pass with local transport. This is a real insider tip, as the harbour ferries offer an inexpensive way to see Hamburg from the water and are also a practical means of transport to reach various points around the harbour.

How do the guided city tours work?

You can choose between a landmark tour (from St. Michaelis to the Elbphilharmonie) or a Reeperbahn tour - one of these city tours is included in your Hamburg City Pass. A reservation is required. You will receive the contact details with your City Pass and all further information when you make your reservation.

How do the hop-on hop-off buses work?

There are two different tours to choose from for exploring Hamburg: Line A with the red double-decker bus and Line D with the blue bus. Once you have decided which option you would like to take, simply show your City Pass to the bus driver and you will receive your ticket. You can hop on and off as often as you like and explore the city at your own pace.

What is the difference between the harbour tour and the Alster tour?

The harbour tour takes you through the port of Hamburg by barge and shows you the maritime side of the city: container terminals, Speicherstadt, HafenCity and the large ships that sail across the Elbe to the North Sea and then all over the world. The Alster round trip, on the other hand, takes place on the Alster steamer and takes you across the Inner and Outer Alster with its parks, elegant villas and the Rondeel pond. The trip across the lakes, which were created by damming the River Alster, shows you Hamburg's city centre and some of the city's most exclusive residential areas. Both trips offer completely different perspectives of Hamburg and are included in the City Pass.

Can I visit the Elbphilharmonie with the City Pass?

Admission to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza is free of charge. For security reasons only, the maximum capacity of the Plaza is regulated by issuing Plaza tickets - so you have to get a "ticket". You can do this via the Elbphilharmonie website or directly on site. If you would like to find out more about the spectacular building, we recommend taking part in the guided landmark tour, which takes you from St Michaelis to the Elbphilharmonie and shows you the concert hall from the outside. Your guide will certainly know a thing or two about the iconic concert hall.

What can you see in the Speicherstadt?

In the Speicherstadt, the largest historic warehouse complex in the world, the City Pass gives you access to the Speicherstadt Museum, which tells the story of the port of Hamburg and the Speicherstadt. It also includes the International Maritime Museum with its impressive collection on 9 "decks". The Speicherstadt itself is a wonderful place to explore on foot and admire the unique brick architecture. The Speicherstadt also offers other exciting attractions: the Miniatur Wunderland with the largest model railway in the world, the Hamburg Dungeon for horror fans, the Spice Museum with exotic scents and flavours (here you get a discount on your admission ticket with your Hamburg City Pass), as well as the German Customs Museum. On a walk through the historic canals, you can discover the atmospheric bridges and canals that give the Speicherstadt its special charm. A visit in the evening is particularly attractive when the Speicherstadt is atmospherically lit up.

How does the mystery game work?

The mystery game is a self-guided walking tour that you play on your smartphone. You are given puzzles and tasks that lead you through Hamburg's city centre and around the city hall, which is well worth seeing. You will discover hidden places and learn exciting stories about the city. You can start the game at any time, pause it and play at your own pace. A reservation is not necessary.
