This pass works fine. Especially the hopon-hopoff bus. It took a little longer to get to the museum, but we could also enter there for free. NB! Sometimes you need one QR, then another. So make sure you both have QR codes at hand.
This is just so much a time saver, well worth it. The convenience of the app was a godsend, saving carrying lots of paper passes. The quick response I had to a problem was appreciated.
Some things weren’t perfectly clear but after spending some time figuring it out we were able to work it through. I’d use again,
We bought a two day pass for Athens. The lineup really isn’t for the ticket sales which it allows you to pass. The lineup is for the entry to the actual site, in our case, the acropolis. Also, they send you several PDF’s, and both the entry gate people as well as ourselves were a little confused. They sent us away down the road to some bus stop to try and get the actual tickets because they said none of these attachments were the actual ticket for the acropolis however, once we open the six and final attachment, we went did find the ticket for the acropolis and went back and showed them and got in no problem, so apart from a little confusion, it was semi-convenient to have this pass as we probably went into more monuments and ruins than we would have if we didn’t already have a pass.
The ticket purchase process went very well. Since we were in Athens for the first time, it was confusing to see the wide range of sights, etc., which was included. Unfortunately, we paid twice for the new Acropolis Museum because we were told it was not included. (We probably only showed the one ticket, or the woman checking us quickly waved it off. Our tip, one ticket per purchase and not two, which means you have to switch back and forth. Kind regards
This city pass was easy to use and very convenient, we just needed to scan the qr codes and we faced no issue in both travelling and getting our access to the acropolis.
The hop on/off buses were helpful getting around a very crowded and busy Athens. Getting to go around ticket queues made site entry much faster.
We got three-day Athens passes, and found the one-ticket feature very helpful at museums and other sites on our list. We probably could have made even more use of it if we had thought to ask at restaurants and tavernas if they offered discounts to pass holders, but somehow we forgot to do this. Still a good value!
I am a returning customer of Turbo Pass, specifically for Athens. The first time I purchased in 2021, the tickets came in 20 minutes of payment, however during my experience now in 2023, it took 4 hours which delayed plans for sightseeing. Understanding the T&Cs it could take up to 24h, however was not expecting that after the first positive experience with the Pass. However, overall it was easy to use at all attractions and sites, and great to have entrance to extra museums included. Will continue purchasing through Turbo Pass in future.
The Athens City Pass was a convenient way to ensure that we would have access to the main archaeological sites and museums. However, my advice would be to read very carefully which museums/attractions are included in the pass itself. There are certain attractions that are not included in the pass, and depending on what you plan to see on your trip, it is nice to know in advance! Also, the ticket for the archaeological sites is sent as a separate PDF, so make sure you bring both to the sites so that you can enter. Overall, we had a great experience!
Saved us time buying individual entrance tickets to the most popular attractions. Pay attention to when things open/close!!!! Most attractions that varies by the day, so we didn’t get to see some things because we were too late. Video from the hop on/off bus attached. It was nice.
We couldn’t find the QR codes anywhere on the three emails sent to us from the company and we thought we wouldn’t be able to enter anywhere! Luckily we thought to email the company and they were super fast at responding. They immediately sent us the QR codes and we were able to get into all of the attractions.
We were in Athens for three days and made full use of the City Pass. All the major sites were included in the pass, which was really great. Only one point detracted from our experience: we received two QR codes and, despite the explanation PDF, it was not clear which one we had to show where. Sometimes we were rejected at the entrance if we showed the wrong QR code - and then had to try again with the second code. If there had been a better explanation everything would really have been perfect and the pass would have deserved 5 stars.
The pass has its advantages, but you should know exactly what you want to do to save/save the costs of the pass...
Almost everything we wanted to see was covered with this pass and more. Just wish that the Panathenaic stadion was a part of it too - then it would be perfect.
A great stay helped by the Turbo pass, easy access to the most important and unmissable attractions (Acropolis, museums, Agora Romana and ancient Agora, not to mention the Karameikos site). A discovery of the beaches and port of Piraeus thanks to the multi-stop buses, less interesting in the heart of Athens city because too much traffic and pollution. (be careful to validate the pass during the 1st trip, not always known to the drivers). We took the Cruise on 3 islands in 1 day option, a pure wonder. Magnificent Hydra, Poros a different kind, and a very interesting Egina. We added 44 € per person to make the excursions on Hydra and Egina, accompanied by a guide (offered during the cruise by the company). It was awesome! So delighted with our week in Athens with the help of the Turbopass.
The bus drivers were a bit confused by our ticket and at the ticket offices of the sights it was not quite clear whether we would get in for free, but in general I can recommend the pass. 1 day only cost us € 20 per person, which was worth it . Warning, you are not allowed to take the red buses!
We were able to see many sights with the pass. The stops were very central and easy to reach. Of course, there were deviations in the schedule due to the traffic. I think that's normal in a city like this. The bus itself was clean. Not too much was spoken or explained during the journey.
This pass was a great way to see Athens, and it was very easy to use, and I experienced no problems at any places. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the hop on hop off is through Grayline, and they have a similar pass so I'm unsure if that is more beneficial to just go directly through them.
