The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the tallest building in the world and a masterpiece of modern architecture. With a height of 828 metres and 163 usable floors, it represents an impressive milestone in the history of construction. The building was opened on 4 January 2010 and is located in the centre of Downtown Dubai, surrounded by luxurious hotels, large shopping arcades and a variety of other attractions.
The design of the Burj Khalifa is inspired by regional architecture and the flowering of the desert lily (Hymenocallis). The tower structure itself tapers upwards in a spiral shape, providing a stable foundation against the strong desert winds.
Look forward to a ride in the world's fastest double-decker lift, which takes you up to the viewing platform at a speed of 10 metres per second. There, a breathtaking 360° panorama awaits you with views of the fascinating Dubai skyline, the sea and the desert.
