The City Pass is actually a good idea. The disadvantage is that you have to create a certain number of sights on the day of validity, so it pays off.
Card usage could be made easier by giving direct access to the various museums or tours. Partly you had to get orginal tickets at the designated provider. Only one could not find the offerers partly because not well written was (for excample. Harbor round trip), boat quickly found, but were sent back to the office to get the right tickets. Was not so easy on the jetty because 613m long and many providers. Possibly. also inform hotels and accommodations better about the map, so that, for example, about the accommodation ticket could be provided. Hoponhopof bus tour, behind the station building could not get in, sent us vaguely through the whole station to meet the buses in front of the station and then you had to first get an original ticket before boarding, on request, If you could also get behind the train station, we were told that this was the case (even with first use). So simplify this turbo pass, then you do not have so many idles. One could also refer to the station a small card for the turbo pass, as an A4 paper is sometimes quite cumbersome.
I think you should be able to figure out whether the Hamburg City Pass is worthwhile for one. In most of the attractions and on the tickets you get other discounts, if one counts to the reduced number of people or has a coupon. So you only save money if you visit many of the sights in a short time or otherwise receive no discounts. Unfortunately, many of the attractions have a relatively short opening time. So I could no longer visit the exhibition in the prototype, because the employees already 15 minutes before the closing denied the entry. I was seriously told I should come back tomorrow, although I was already there, as a tourist no unlimited time quota is available and the entrance through the Hamburg City Pass was already paid. The staff at this exhibition were in no way helpful. Nevertheless, I have a lot of fun on this day (Hamburg Dungeon, original harbor tour, city tour Hop-on Hop-off bus, St. Michaelis Tower and Panoptikum). Overall the offer is very good, but should be cheaper or at least also for students, trainees and severely handicapped to be discounted in order to offer a clear advantage over the usual reductions.
Basically, the City Pass is a good idea because you do not need to worry about some things and can save money. If you want to see the city relaxed and only 1-2 attractions / wants to use, it can be cheaper you use the conventional variant tickets on site to purchase. The implementation with the providers I had to determine as a need for optimization. One example was the Hop-on-Hop-off-City tour. It was stated that the first bus leaves at 9:30. However, the bus driver does not accept a City Pass. A ticket must be issued at a nearby ticket counter. Unfortunately, this switch did not open until 10:15. This was nowhere described.
We booked the Hamburg City Pass for 5 days. Basically a good thing. However, you should read the texts between the lines exactly. Hop-on-hop-off were contrary to our previous travel experiences in other cities only one day valid, which I think is not clear from the description text. Attention: Rathaus HH is free of charge for everyone. Guided tour costs also for the owner of the Turbopass also entrance (reduction 1 €). Highlight: guided St.Pauli tour - very flexible registration possible! Tour guide topp. In principle, you should calculate in advance whether passport is profitable!
We had the turbopass for three days. There are several maps, unfortunately and the explanations to it - well, other cities make it a bit clearer .... Advantage Turbopass: - Public transport - many admissions Disadvantages Turbopass: - Man creates not everything in three days - attractions (brewer's visibility ) You have to book longer - some attractions depending on the season (necessarily in advance) Hamburg is a nice city, Franconian - fits already.
Overall, the price-performance ratio is okay. Topp guide with guide Felix in the HafenCity. Attention! The office of service providers, example Meyer barracks, is furthest away from the stop Landungsbrücken. Alsterboot was supposedly broken, but no indication received.
The actual tours and museums were very good. Unfortunately, you could not enter the bus and ship directly to the pass but you had to buy a ticket in different places with the ball. Where this was to do really is not clearly signposted. I had to ask at various points. It should now be possible to directly carry a digital pass the actions again without having to queue for a ticket,
We were quite satisfied with the Hamburg City Pass, unfortunately we could not use all the attractions offered.
The many coffee houses were a hit, such as Motherland, Espresso house ...
Behind the Landungsbrücken, towards the Reeperbahn, there is a small park with benches. Great view to the harbor. Cool shops in Schanzenviertel.
We, 2 adults 1 teenager and 1 child, paid for the turbopass for 3 days 265 euro. If all the entrances plus on-site reductions together we had paid less. So it has not paid off for us. Of course one could have used even more of the offerings in the Turbopass, which went however in three days not out. The unused offers were also no longer particularly attractive for us to have to bring them to be absolutely only to come at our expense. It is worth mentioning that we did not have to go to the Hamburg dungeon, but it would not have lasted long on this day without a turbopass.
Had the Hamburg City Pass due to the Aufmachers "Hamburg City Pass .. The all inclusive entrance pass for Hamburg's attractions." bought at short notice and was very disappointed that only selected attractions are included (miniature museum for example is not included). After all, driving the public was thanks to the HCP easily possible! It is very confusing that in addition to the Hamburg City Pass there is also the Hamburg Card, which also covers some attractions, but also differs for others. The respective employees of the institutions were often not sure whether they are now with the Hamburg Card or the City Pass. It's a pity that there is not a single City Pass for Hamburg that covers everything. Buying two tickets is definitely too expensive for my taste. Therefore, I can not recommend this City Pass with a clear conscience and I recommend all travelers to compare the planned attractions with the list of participants. For the guides should be reserved in advance in advance, therefore not suitable for short-term visitors.
Not suitable for international tourists. All the things we did were in German not English so it was a waste of time & money e.g. Boat cruise, Hamburg Dungeon etc.
We had to travel half way around the city to get our Hop on hop off bus tour activated.
It is not valid for all round trips, only for a tour operator, etc.
I have sent two turbopasses, which I will pass on to two older gentlemen! I am very disappointed, because I felt that it is a card size (as pictured on the website) ID cards, with A4 paper I have not reckoned! I could have printed it myself! I am already aware that this is only an insignificant detail, is important what is in it, but it is very cheap and unprofessional and is not worth 5.90 postage!
Poorly organized information to be incorrectly granted us a major constituent of the included services was not available because in closing (Alster tour), by telephone inquiry they said the boat would very probably go and in hindsight it was our own fault because we had yes, the closing can be found in the small print and you can not point each to all closing finally. Mind you an action that has been touted as an extra of included main ingredient! And after it was known even, for what date I wanted to buy the tickets!
