The Rome City Pass was very time-saving, but not cheap. My disappointment: if on the 3 - day, the next day after the Colosseum and Forum visit, we wanted to visit the Palatine, unfortunately entry was invalid with the Rom pass. I can recommend Turbopass, because you never have to wait in front of the cash register.
Roma Pass is a great idea that saves a lot of time, because you pass the long queues. We were there at Easter two adults and two children (2.6). The only thing to be improved is, if you travel with small children you need for the a card (free ticket). So even though we had Roma Pass, we had to get free tickets for kids. I asked the topic even before the trip, because I would be told that the children are free and come in. Unfortunately that's not true, we had to hire again. Luckily our kids are early risers, so we were usually at the top.
We were in Rome with thousands of people at Easter. Great, if you can just walk past the long line and have more time for the sights! The entrance to the Vatican was refunded to us as it was already booked and partially closed due to the Easter celebrations. Many Thanks! We did not need the public transport because we were very central in the hotel. Nevertheless, on the whole, a great offer.
We chose the Rome City Pass for 4 people and 3 days (2 adults + 2 adolescents <18 years). All entrances were easy except for the 3-day ticket for public transport. Here we had to solve for our guys extra a 3-day ticket. Otherwise, the Rome City Pass gave us insights into the eternal city, which we will not forget.
Has everything worked so far, only a pity that you have to pay for some attractions such as the Coliseum, the Castel Santas, etc. for the kids extra for a ticket - although free but still an unnecessary effort. Also that the subway tickets are extra and not non-contact as with the adults is actually incomprehensible to me - there is potential. All in all, the card is worth it!
It was great, especially the ticket for the bus and the tram and the train ...... just great not to have to queue. We will only travel to cities with the turbo pass !!! Although a little expensive but worth it.
You should use the line 3 and 8 of the S-Bahn - so you get everywhere quickly because the buses can be very busy at peak time. Highly recommended with the Rome City Pass, as there are hardly any waiting times.
Absolute advantage, especially if you are in Rome for a short time and want to visit the classic spots, the Skip the line function. Long queuing (with children) is easy. Only 4 stars, as the bus tour in Rome as a sightseeing is not so great. The hotspots are hardly directly on the tour. With the city buses or on foot you can do everything better. I would buy the pass again.
Everything went very well and the pass was a real help for the many sights in Rome. He spared us a lot of waiting in the Vatican and Colosseum.
Basically, the turbo pass is a great story. However, I would recommend to every user to inform themselves prior to departure, so that they can send the information material home because it is very extensive. The contents: there was a voucher for the Vatican Museums. With this voucher we could avoid the long queue, but until the end we did not know if we had to pay admission and if the duration of the City Pass started with the entrance to the museum. In search of answers, people kept coming back to leaders who, of course, offered their accompaniment to Cash. It remains more flexible with technical aids (headphones to borrow). Also without a guide, we finally arrived directly after the Vatican Museum in St. Peter's without us to face the very long line. Every Wednesday there is an audience with the Pope in St. Peter's Square, as long as he is in the Vatican (we only learned by chance). We missed the entrance to the old port of Rome. It was said that one hour before dark closes the box office. In fact, this was much earlier because there was no season yet. A visit to the Lidos in March, we did not find it worthwhile. And that the Hop on Hop Off - Buses only on one (!) Day can be used continuously is not immediately apparent. In the Rome City Pass, there is no paper plan for all public transport to show all connections.
Is it really worth it, if you do not want to queue for a long time.
It is indeed true that this pass opens the gates faster and it is also less stressful. We got this pass for 3 days and unfortunately it was the first weekend of the month. There was no clear indication that most of the attractions there have free admission and a preference in the inlet on this Sunday is not possible. Otherwise, this pass is highly recommended, especially because the use of public transport costs nothing extra.
We were also skeptical at first if that was not too much money for the few days we were in Rome. But I can only really recommend this pass !!! We have experienced and seen so much in these three days and that was all covered by the pass! If you extrapolate what you spend on one day for sightseeing and subway / bus and tram driving, the pass is worth it! We were in the Colloseum, on the Castel Sant'Angelo (in sunshine and beautiful weather a wonderful panoramic view of Rome) in the Vatican Museums (thank God without having to queue at the eternally long line !!!), have a hop-on-hop -Off-Bustour (interesting German spoken guide, as you get in the bus headphones and just switch to the specific channel) made. The bus stop at the central station was a little hard to find, but after we had asked, she was quickly found. We walked everywhere, but from time to time it was really great that we could use the public transport for a few stops. In short, who really wants to see and experience Rome, I advise to this passport !!! If you want to experience everything on your own and spontaneously decide on the spot, what you look at or see before, that not much is for you in the passport, which should think it over. What a pity that the passport has no way, at least discounted, to get away from the airport, but otherwise everything was great! Unfortunately, it is difficult at the food, the brochure of the Roma Pass offers nothing, we have just made a little smart before online. We have read that it is a sin if you do not try the fried artichokes in Rome and what can I say: who likes artichokes, will love those! Do you have to try!
Hop on Hop Off: Too long waiting for next bus (more than 30 minutes). Other companies rode more often.

We were very happy with the organization and communication of the Turbopass. Calculated down it is no / or little savings. But you get everything from one source, that's very convenient. There are some museums mentioned, which are free anyway and the Hop on Hop off tour is unfortunately very rarely present.
The rides in the public, the visit of the Vatican (museum + Sixt chapel), Coliseum were great, no waiting .... BUT the sightseeing bus is a real disaster. Maybe there is another option to tie a similar package ...?
