Pass is valued for money. With incl. the skip the lines and free public transport train/tram/bus, it makes life so much easier. We also noticed many people were queuing for train tix and all we had to do was tap and go. Time saver! The hop on/off bus was great.
Saves time (I do not have to get Roma Pass and Vatican ticket myself), but the hop-on-hop-off bus is not worth it. He does not go past the (for me) interesting sights. This leaves all the explanations a little bit unrelated and you have to drive quite a lot despite the bus or by public transport.
The Rome City Pass is in any case recommended, especially the advance on the laaangen queues at the entrance. Or take a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to explore the city first.

Rome City Pass unfortunately did not arrive within 5 working days. I got a pickup with an email immediately. So what then no problem. Pass worked perfectly for all listed sights. Had a very nice time in Rome and could spare us without eternity much unnecessary waiting time. We were very satisfied.
In principle a good and recommended thing. Easy to use. Good that you can use all public transport. However, one must calculate for itself, from when the CityPass really worthwhile. The 3-day pass for 2 persons costs just € 200,00. Now you have to take into account that the visit of some attractions takes a considerable time, unless you want to rave through the exhibition sites of the coach company. For the visit of the Vatican, with museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's and then to the Engelsburg we have despite (skip the line tickets in the Vatican) a total of 8.5 hours, thus practically a whole day needed. Likewise a day for the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The use of public transport is downright cheap. Overall, but especially comfortable, since you buy the single purchase of the maps (attractions, bus / train). Since we love the convenience, we have not regretted the offer nevertheless the bottom line.
I was really very satisfied, but there is a small limitation: in my opinion the fact that you need the paper to go to the Vatican Museums was not quite apparent. Please write this in more detail. As an insider tip I would have the Campo Santo Teutonico. This is the German (in the sense of "Großdeutsch" (So with Austria etc.)) cemetery and the lies in the Vatican. The entrance is free and possible until 12 o'clock. You have to tell the Swiss Garden only to go there.
It all worked great. With the 6 day pass we had 4 important entries without waiting time free. In addition, the Vatican Museum entrance booked in advance, here we are simply past the long queue. Metro and bus ticket has also worked great. We had the passport sent home, so we could start the first day.
After long discussions, we decided to book the pass for six days. The delivery was very good, within two days the pass was with us! Furthermore, we did not think much before, what we when when. We have been to Rome for the first time and have given everything to us. But thanks to this pass we came to the Coliseum and all other places of interest in nothing. What we then worked in 4 hours, otherwise would have lasted 2 days, so we had so much time to go to the sea. Of course also with the pass and completely free. The description, which accompanies the passport, is very detailed and has always helped us!
So why I give despite two restrictions 4 stars has the following reason. In the fatigue and the heat of the battle, I made a mistake in choosing the date for the Vatican Museum. It was friendly and quickly free of charge. O)) 1. Restriction: I bought the passport as gift voucher, the redeeming was tedious and it was for the recipient still a fee, I believe of 4 € / passport. 2. Restriction: when picking up in Rome, we got from a wrong HOP-ON HOP-OFF bus ne map / plan. It was painstaking to find out that only the blue bus is for us to use and only in one day.
If only adults are present, you can see his Roma Pass and walk without a snake. But if you have children and young people with "Rome City Pass", you have to exchange the tickets at the counter only against the freitickets for young people. At the Colosseum it took almost as long as the normal switch. The light-blue hop-on-hop-off buses that Turbopass works with are the busiest buses of my kind, which I consider to be the busiest of buses. But what is really stupid is that the City Pass is not a ticket must be rewritten. Until the ticket office at each stop is done, each time at least 10 minutes, which takes half the time of the tour. If you simply use the plastic map of the Rome City Pass as a ticket, it would be much easier and faster. Both points are not organized by Turbopass, but by the Romans, but perhaps Turbopass, as a major contract partner, has an influence on this and must also be said. From Turbopass very unflatter, I feel that, unlike Roma Pass, no word suggests that here is also only one big attraction is free and the others only discount. With the internet offer one could assume that all listed attractions are free. This deficiency has even confirmed to me an employee of the hotline, with the indication that this is changed. Too late for me. The basic concept, however, is correct and I would make it the same in every other city and also recommend to everyone.
Many things are included in the Rome City Pass and with the lack of explanation from the agent in Rome we did not experience it to the fullest.

The pass was more expensive than the entrance fees we paid. Minus. Plus: We were not at the checkouts, of course. Conclusion: It is worth it only when you visit many museums. But the passport saves a lot of time.
In the six-day pass you get two three-day tickets if you are not careful both on the first day devalued so it happened. Therefore, a 6 day ticket would be better.

The combination does not need to worry: everything essential for tourists is indoors. In particular, the RomaPass function at the Coliseum and the pre-booked admission time at the Vatican avoid many hours of waiting. The Hop On Hop Off gives a good first impression, with the pass bus is good. The use of the Rome City Pass was the easiest in the Vatican. It also worked quite well in public transport, but sometimes there were difficulties with the scanning machines. The city tour was also very good, but unfortunately one had to search the right bus very long, since not always at each stop a sign of the bus line was to be found. And very to our annoyance, the Romans do not take it so exactly with their travel times. Because the last complete round of the city tour bus was simply not carried out anymore. And there were some people next to us who wanted to drive this last tour. Only the bus driver and the accompanying "tour guide" wanted to make the evening. Otherwise, you can easily get past all the queues quickly and into many museums. We found him very well.
