If I were heading to Rome again, I would definitely get the Roma Pass the TurboPass added some options that made it a convenient choice
The sign up process wasn't perfectly clear and it wasn't clear that some tickets would come later and others were optional. So be careful when ordering.
I would not recommend the public transport option, things are quite close together in Rome so walking will likely be the way to go, and the odd few times you can use the bus and metro, just pick up a ticket for €1.5 in the Tabacs that are everywhere.
Make sure you read the details on ticket pick up and what is included. There are some small treasures open to you with the Roma Pass that are great.
The folks in the touristation are excellent and very helpful.
We also never stood in line for any of the attractions thanks to the pass.
Good formula. We had taken the visit of the coliseum and the guided tour of the vatican museum plus the hop on hop off bus point of attention., it will be appropriate to carefully read all the documents because the details are important (example the bus line included is ionos bus...and valid for 48 hours, etc...).
We took a city trip to Rome and booked the Rome City Pass in advance. This allowed us to use the hop-on hop-off bus for 48 hours, which took us to the well-known sights of Roma Termini, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, the Vatican and Engelsburg. It is always well described how to get tickets for buses and other attractions. For example, we had to go to the tourist information on the Piazza Navona and were able to pick up our tickets for the Castel Sant'Angelo there without any problems. With these tickets we were able to visit one of the most famous Roman buildings at the agreed time immediately through the control and without queuing. The same applied to the Colosseum and the other attractions.
The TurboPass is useful. Experiences with the Italian organization are taken from you that you would not expect as a German. But you could also organize it yourself. We were overwhelmed by the multitude of offers and simply visited the museums etc that we wanted to see. If these were included in the passport OK, if not also OK. The "SkiptheLine" offers were very good, the queues were really long. The organization of receiving the tickets, access to "SkiptheLine" takes some getting used to. But this is an Italian problem, not from Turbopass. All in all, the performance of TurboPass is good.
All in all, to be recommended, you just have to know that you have to pick up the ticket for the use of the transport first
The receipt of the tickets for public transport worked great. Entry has always worked. Only the tour of the Vatican did not end in St. Peter's Basilica, so we still had to queue for hours. Price-performance ratio was not optimal for us. We are in too few museums for that.
The Turbopass gave us a good orientation in Rome as to where to go, as well as an assurance that we would get in. The level of awareness at various museums is good, but it can still be increased. The bus drivers of the shuttle buses at the airport don't know the turbo pass very well, so it goes smoothly. In many cases, based on this pass, one has to issue a new ticket and wait in line. However, it is still much less time-consuming than waiting completely without a passport. Unfortunately, the smooth tour between the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica did not work without waiting. We had to B. for St. Peter's Basilica again put us in line, although St. Peter's Basilica was included but all in all it was great
Practical pass that includes everything you need in Rome - you don't have to worry about anything! Except for one little thing when picking up the public transport tickets, everything was great! Will buy a city pass again on my next city trip!
We had booked the 72h pass with entry slots for Colo and the Vatican Museum. We took the Hop On Off bus to Termini train station, where we picked up the 72-hour public transport ticket from a kiosk. Then take the Hop On Off Bus back to the starting point. The Hop On Off Bus Ticket was valid for 48 hours, we often used it to visit the well-known sights. In the evening and on the third day we moved very flexibly and quickly through the city by subway and bus. Entry Colo worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the tour in Italian was pre-booked in the Vatican Museum. Unfortunately, since we don't speak Italian well enough, we exchanged the expensive tickets for normal tickets without a guided tour. In addition to stress and a little anger, we could have achieved the result much more cheaply. Nevertheless, the Turbopass Rome is an absolutely perfect combination and will also become a repeat offender for other cities. LG and have a nice holiday!
The biggest advantage of the turbo pass is that you don't have to put up with long waiting times. With the Hop On/Hop Off Tour you get an overview of where the main sights are and you can then look at everything at your leisure. It is also nice to stroll through the small streets. The only thing that is a bit awkward about the Turbo Pass is getting the tickets for Castel Sant'Angelo.
We were in Rome for a week and had a Rome City Pass for 7 days. From our point of view highly recommended. In the end we didn't make it through some included attractions, but that was more due to the great offer.
We decided tot take the pass to avoid looking to different websites to book our different visits. It worthed it ! You just buy the pass, choose which day you want to visit Colosseum and Vatican and they do everything for you ! They have sometimes more timeslots than the official websites (it was our case for the Vatican. It was full on the official website but thanks to Turbopass, we had tickets).
Futhermore, without the pass, I think we would not have taken the city tour bus but it was really convenient and interesting !
However, we regret the fact that we didn't have the possibility to choose the language of the visit.
We are very happy to have informed ourselves in advance about the offer of the turbo pass. The organization and planning of the trip was thus significantly simplified and we were able to enjoy the time in Rome stress-free during our stay and absorb the many great impressions! The only thing that could be improved for us would be the delivery of all admission tickets and the local transport ticket. As it takes a bit of time to get to the different stations to get entrances to museums etc in the form of a different ticket. Also the directions and signage of the kiosk (for the local transport ticket). Otherwise, it is definitely a great way to save yourself a lot of time, money and nerves (when queuing, etc.).
With the Rome City Pass you have the advantages of getting through without standing in line at an attraction. Our suggestions for improvement would be: 1. To provide directions to the stand for purchasing local transport tickets in the travel documents. 2. I had to show the printed ticket for the rides on the hop-on - hop-off bus. With an app and QR code it would be a great relief. About our travel impressions: An absolute must are the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and the Capitol on the Piazza de Venecia
We were in Rome for 5 days and used the TurboPass for 3 days. Everything worked exactly as described and we never had to queue longer. The only downside is that you really have to stick to the booked times, so plan everything very well beforehand. It was also a bit impractical that the ticket for the Castel Sant'Angelo cannot be booked online, but only in a tourist information office, which cost us some time.
Overall it was worth it. Motivated to also look at smaller things that you wouldn't have seen otherwise but are very exciting. Very practical that you don't have to take care of everything individually. However, you often have to queue. Attention Vatican: St. Peter's Basilica is free, the booked ticket is for the Vatican Museums.
In February 2022 we had decided on the 3-day Rome pass. Would I buy again? Hm, it depends ;-). Of the sights included, the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums in particular were "good to have" because they prevented long queues. In times of Corona, the queues weren't very long, it's definitely different in a "normal" year. The hop-on hop-off bus is also a really good opportunity to get an overview (do it on the first day!), otherwise we might not have bought this ticket. All in all, the Turbopass really offers a lot of sights in the portfolio, but we were so busy with (first visit to Rome) the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica that we couldn't use any of the other tickets. So if you just want the all-round carefree package, don't want to worry about lots of different tickets and want to save them and still want the opportunity to spontaneously use one of the sights that are included in the turbo pass, then the TP is just right for you correct. For those whose travel plans are already set on certain landmarks, they may be able to save a few euros by purchasing individual tickets separately. For us it was really great to "just" pull out the turbo pass without having to deal with papers or emails etc. And with the turbo pass you also have to know in advance when you are going to visit the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums, because you buy the tickets under Indication of date and time already with the turbo pass. And beware: the guides don't take a joke when adhering to the ticket times! If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will not be able to get in.
