The day at the Colosseum and Forum Romanum was very relaxed, the Vatican Museums were exhausting. For the St. Peter's Basilica, I recommend an audio guide. It is always worthwhile to go to a side street to eat, as it is much cheaper and more relaxed there.
Such a passport is definitely recommended for every tourist. However, if everyone had him, then the benefits would be partly gone ...;) Only the integrated "city bus tour" was not so great. Since this is cooperated with one of the "cheapest" companies and thus you can not sit in the "most beautiful bus".
The well shortened queuing at St. Peter's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, Vatican Museums and Collosseum worked very well. The validity of 72 hours from the first application works well, so that on the calendar 4th day still "remaining time" was usable. Indisputable is the hop on hop off bus CityRoma, which is served with only 2-3 buses, which has very long waiting times (in our case 60 minutes!). In addition, in the off-season during the day, the timetables changed and the last round trip canceled, so we received the lapidary information after walking for 20 minutes, we could still ride 1 stop. The morning schedule (in the photo on the left) and evening (on the right, pinned note) on the bus were fundamentally different, the information on the homepage completely different. Here must urgently be remedied or the provider to be changed.
If you want to discover a lot, it is well equipped. Some wait at the Coliseum.
Now this pass was worth the price with the Skip the Line Vatican pass and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus day pass! The line to get into The Vatican is fierce. So glad we had those passes. My only complaint is that the instructions are not very clear as to where exactly we need to go to pick them up. I don't understand why there isn't an email option and why we have to go and pick them up. When we finally found the store, our tour had left already and the woman there was incredibly nasty and rude. She said we lost the ticket and there was no chance to make it up. We ended up going to the Vatican City gates ourselves and the guards honored the pass. The pass included entrance to the Colosseum which was amazing. This was the last stop of your trip and we were all Museum'd out after our day in The Vatican. It also includes a pass for the local transportation which we didn't really use too often. I definitely recommend this pass for 1st time visitors to Rome but try and buy it early so you can have it mailed to you before the trip and you wont have to deal with the headache of picking it up.
The City Pass was great, because you could easily overtake the ticket queue and thus immediately was inside. This was a great advantage for us, especially in the Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel. Unfortunately, it took us some time to find the exit point of the pass, which was hidden in one of the souvenir shops in St. Peter's Square at the very back and was not well signposted. It is therefore really advisable to order the passport in time, so that it can be delivered by post. 4 stars so for the latter reason. Otherwise really only to be recommended.
In fact, we only went to the Formum Romanum and only because the pocket control was tedious. Highly recommended is the 3-day pass, if you stay 5 days. Then you can make all the cost-intensive on the three passport days and then everything cheap. For the local traffic and the airport transfer you do not need the pass. All routes, even to Ostia cost only 1.50 € per person.
Overall, the pass is recommended. We could pass the queues. Unfortunately sometimes information about the extent of the booking or visit is missing. So we did not know that when visiting the Vatican - museums - the gardens were not there and to do it is utopian. Otherwise, the passport did what was promised.
The City Pass is a sensible alternative to get into the sights without much effort. The signs for the sights, especially the Vatican City, should be greatly improved.
We loved the hop on hop off bus and took the last route before shut down the night we left! Seeing Rome at night was fantastic. Next time we get a pass, we will order early enough so we won't have to pick it up on site.
The pass was worth it, especially with the waiting times! Without a pass you stand z. B. up to 4 hours in the Vatican ... I can only recommend to everyone!
Booking the Rome City Pass in advance was a really good decision. We could just walk past the waiting lines and save many lost hours for "queuing up" at both the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum. We only wished that the office to pick up the passport would be easier to find (marking on the building). Was then but with demand for passers then no problem.
We were with the 3-day ticket in Rome. A much too short time for this great city, but thanks to the privileged entrance, we were able to get into the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums at once ... a great feeling to be able to pass the endless queue. So you could save a lot of time. Hop on - Hop off - Bus tours I have experienced better, but that is because the sights in Rome are sometimes poorly accessible by bus. It's a pity that the pass is only valid for 72 hours, but understandable. All in all a great thing to use a short trip effectively!
Turbopass is a must in Rome. We purchased the 3 day pass and it was perfect for out trip and it saved us money in the end. The best thing about Turbopass is skipping lines. Which is a must at most of the major tourist attractions, especially The Vatican and Colosseum. The only negative thing we found with this pass is the Hop on Hop Off Bus. Pretty sure we did not see one the entire time we were there, so do not purchase this pass if you are hoping to do that.
Had the pass for 3 days and lost it at the end of the second. :-( create my tip account and get passport as a mobile ticket! Then replacement on mobile phone possible !!! We were lucky and could Daniela the bus driver of the "hop on hop off bus" get our roma card again! Great !! The almost lane worked great on Colloseum and Vatican! The side exit in the Sistine Chapel on the right exists and actually brings you directly to the cathedral !!! We enjoyed the food at Don Carlos Barberini Platz on the top of the terrace! We were in Rome for four days and took the 72 pass. We have to use the admissions for the Colosseum (including Roman Forum and Palatine) and the Castel Sant'Angelo. The hop on off tour was fine too. In the competition, there are shorter intervals, but we have rarely had to wait. By and large in the passport okay. If you want to do everything in one go. Otherwise you should buy the things individually. But we will do it again.
We had the 6 day City Pass and were really satisfied. Especially with the well-known attractions such as the Colosseo or the Roman Forum we passed much faster because we did not have to wait in line. One day we spent in Ostia by the sea, just to escape the turmoil a little. With our next city trip gladly again!
Really great. We saved money and a lot of time. Unfortunately, no guides in there. Highly recommended!
Maybe it would be a suggestion that you can also go to St. Peter's Cathedral by the snake!
