On this day trip to Herrenchiemsee Castle, which was built in the 19th century by King Ludwig II and inspired by the Palace of Versailles, you explore the Chiemsee in a very unique way. The journey takes place by train and the subsequent island hopping tour allows you to exlore the picturesque surroundings, shaped by mountains and lakes.
Due to its elegant gardens and walkways, and lust interiors of gold, glass and porcelain, the caste is indeed a visually stunning monument that reflects the restless and eccentric personality of King Ludwig II. During the tour, you will learn more about the history of this place.
